The Huntsville Cave Rescue Unit, Inc. is not funded by any governmental agency at any level. Our funding is provided solely by organizational fund-raising activities and individual/corporate contributions.
We are a recognized member of the Alabama Association of Rescue Squads (AARS).
As an entirely volunteer rescue squad, we provide no-cost regional response for cave, cliff, high-angle, urban and rough terrain search and rescue operations.
We act in conjunction with and support local Fire Departments, Rescue Squads and Law Enforcement Agencies.
Each member provides their time, effort and personal equipment. We need your help in maintaining our organizational equipment, replenishing our consumable supplies, and satisfying our overhead operating costs.
The Huntsville Cave Rescue Unit (HCRU) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Members of the public and potential corporate sponsors are invited to become Sustaining Contributors to the HCRU by donating at least $100 annually. Sustaining Contributors will be featured on our web-site and brochures throughout the year.
